The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly set to hire Atlanta Falcons secondary coach Joe Whitt Jr. to be their secondary coach and defensive pass game coordinator, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Whitt, who was with Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy in Green Bay from 2008-2018 in various positions, spent the majority of his time (2009-2017) with the Packers as the cornerbacks coach.

He then moved to the defensive passing game coordinator in 2018, before leaving Green Bay to take over as the Cleveland Browns secondary coach and defensive passing game coordinator in 2019.

Whitt then took over the same job in Atlanta in 2020, where the Falcons ranked last in the NFL in passing yards surrendered, and in the bottom 10 in opponent's quarterback rating, opponents completion percentage, and opponents passings touchdowns.
