Coronavirus surge hitting many areas of Texas

A coronavirus surge is hitting many areas in Texas. Governor Abbott is sending more doctors and equipment to Lubbock and Amarillo.

The Governor already sent aide to El Paso where this weekend, more people wound up in the hospital than at any time during the pandemic.

Health officials reported Sunday about 450 people were in the hospital, 129 of those in intensive care. That leaves the area with only seven ICU beds available, according to the Department of State Health Services.

Governor Abbott already sent more doctors, nurses, support staff, equipment and PPE to El Paso - and tighter restrictions are in place in the county to combat the spread of the virus.
