Dallas man admits to planting fake bomb near railroad tracks


A Dallas man has admitted planting a fake bomb near some railroad tracks, and that it's a federal offense.

According to reports, 37-year old Mark Robert of Dallas pleaded guilty to one count of false information and hoaxes for putting a fake bomb next to railroad tracks.

It happened in the early morning hours of December 21st, 2018 along the Kansas City Rail Line tracks in Dallas.

A conductor spotted a device that had red and green flashing lights. It also had a battery and the whole thing was taped together to look like bomb.

The Dallas bomb squad was called and figured out the device was harmless.

Investigators traced the phony bomb to Robert.

His sentencing is set for March.
