While the growing Dallas murder rate gets a lot of attention, Fort Worth also has a problem.
The city of Fort Worth now has more than 100 murders this year, the most in a quarter-century.
Fort Worth Police Officers Association President Manny Ramirez puts the blame on two main things: a shortage of police officers, and a change in police tactics.
Ramirez believes too many officers have been removed from the Special Response Team which targets crime in particular neighborhoods, and have been reassigned to the mental health unit.
But some scholars say much of the increase is due to being 'cooped up' during the Coronavirus, increasing the rate of domestic violence.
