Lewisville polling place closed for cleaning after worker diagnosed with Coronavirus

A polling place in Lewisville is set to be open today after a thorough cleaning yesterday.

The polling station at the Fred P. Herring Recreation Center had to close Thursday afternoon when a poll worker was confirmed to have the Coronavirus.

All the workers were sent home and signs were put on the doors saying "This Site Temporarily Closed." Voters were also directed to another polling location.

The Denton County Elections Administration office can't say how many people the infected worker came in contract with but contact tracing is now said to be underway.

It has been decided that all workers in that polling place will not work any more during this election cycle.
