Man Who Allegedly Strangled Small Dog Arrested

WEATHERFORD (1080 KRLD) - Parker County deputies arrest an Eastland County man in connection with the death of a small dog.

Deputies say Ryan Hobbs, 20, was watching the dog for a couple of friends.

Hobbs allegedly told them that the dog slipped from his arms as he was trying to give her a bath and drowned.

However, a vet performed a necropsy on the dog and found that the dog actually died of strangulation.

"I've never seen one where they just flat chocked the dog to death," says Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler. "I mean, it's just a defenseless animal."

Hobbs was arrested on animal cruelty charges on Wednesday.
