Normally, about 20,000 people would be heading to downtown Dallas for the YMCA's annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot. But this year, with the Coronavirus, that figure will be more like 4,000 -- and even that will be via a virtual run.
The virtual Turkey Trot means you have to pick out your own 5-K or 8-mile route near your home. Plus, you have to download an app and then use the in-app GPS tracking-timing function to communicate your time the Turkey Trot officials.
And, unlike the traditional rules, participants have until Sunday to complete the virtual walk or run.
