Woman wounded in Fort Worth; child in the same car was not hurt

A woman is in the hospital after gunfire erupted outside a Fort Worth convenience store last night.

At about 8:30 p.m. the woman was sitting in a car -- with a little girl in the back seat -- when someone opened fire outside Smokey's, a convenience store on East Rosedale a little west of Loop 820.

Several rounds struck the car, wounding the woman. Her condition has not been released. It does not appear the child was hurt.

Investigators cannot say if that car was the target of the shooting -- or was, perhaps, caught in the line-of-fire. No arrests have bee reported.
