Widespread drizzle, wind, and very chilly temperatures today

It's a lousy morning across north Texas with widespread drizzle, wind, and very chilly temperatures for this time of the year. Readings are a good 15゚ below normal, as we've settled into the mid to upper thirties. Wind chills are in the upper 20s.

Jackets and umbrellas are necessary today, as areas of drizzle will continue through the day. Most of the measurable rain will stay to the west of DFW until late tonight and into tomorrow. That's when most of us will pick up a good half inch to 3/4 of an inch of rain.

By tomorrow late afternoon, skies may clear briefly from southwest to northeast, but those clouds will roll back in on Thursday, as wrap-around moisture moves in from the north (in the wake of this unusually cold and wet storm) as it passes through southern Oklahoma. There may even be a few isolated showers along and north of interstate 20 through the day.

As we head into Friday and into Halloween weekend, temperatures will warm into the sixties with morning lows in the forties. Plenty of sunshine will greet you each day.

IMPORTANT:  Please make sure your pets have a warm place to hang out through this and unusually cold weather pattern. They can run around and play starting Friday into the weekend.
Also, protect tender vegetarian all day though Thursday and then again Friday through Monday during the morning hours.
