The “Saved by the Bell” reboot keeps loading on the iconic cast members! The show has just cast the person who will play Mac Morris, Zack Morris’ son.
In the reboot of the series, Zack (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) has been named governor of California and has gotten himself “into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools." He then "proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state, including Bayside High," the Peacock description reads.
Since his days at Bayside High, the now-grown Zack has had a child, Mac is described as “the handsome charming, privileged son” of the California governor. He will be played by Mitchell Hoog.
Mac isn’t the only new Bayside high schooler that’s been cast. The show is also welcoming Jamie Spano (Belmont Cameli), the son of Jessie Spano (Elizabeth Berkley). He’s “the captain of the Bayside football team and Jessie’s sensitive man-child son.”
Haskiri Velazquez is slotted to play Daisy, “a smart, ambitious sophomore who is excited at the prospect of attending Bayside High after her local school gets shut down.”
Aisha, who is “Daisy’s fun-loving, but ultra-competitive best friend,” will be played by Alycia Pascual-Pena.
Meanwhile, Josie Totah had previously been announced as the show’s star, playing Lexi the cheerleader and “most popular girl at Bayside High who is both admired and feared by her fellow students.”
Many of the original cast members will be reprising their roles on the show, with Mark-Paul Gosselaar recently joining the cast alongside Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley.
The show will be available to stream on NBC's Peacock streaming service.
