It’s been a great week for classic ‘90s TV shows and movies.
First, HBO Max confirmed a “Friends” unscripted reunion special coming to HBO Max this May, and now, the stars of “Cruel Intentions” have reunited for an epic photo.
Close friends and former co-stars, Selma Blair and Sarah Michelle Geller, who played Cecile Caldwell and Kathryn Merteuil, respectively, in the 1999 film, reunited with director, Roger Kumble.
“I can’t show how good it feels to have my friends come and bring lunch and news of the world,” Blair captioned the photo on Instagram.
“So I will just share the standard happy selfies. With love. Who knew this #cruelintentions trio would be forever?” she continued.
Blair was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018 and has been very open and transparent about her battle with the disease.
Gellar commented on the picture writing, “#secretsociety.”
She then posted the photos on her page with the caption, “No cruel intentions here. Little known fact — since the day we met @selmablair has called me Scarah — @rogerkumble I blame you”
On his Instagram, Kumble threw in a movie joke as he wrote, “First day at my new job as Sugarfish Postmates Delivery-boy and look who I run into!!! @selmablair & @sarahmgellar! I tried to get them to kiss, then they kicked me out with no tip!”
“Cruel Intentions,” which also famously starred former spouses Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philippe, has become a cult classic since its release.
In 2016, NBC considered adding a revival starring Geller to its upcoming streaming service, but opted not to pick it up, according to Deadline.
With Peacock officially set to launch this July, it’s possible the network will re-consider once again.
At the very least, this reunion selfie should be enough to warrant a conversation about a revival.
TV nostalgia has been at an all-time high recently with the cast of “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” reuniting thanks to titular star Melissa Joan Hart. Check out all the magical photos now.
