Nostalgia is taking over at the grocery aisles!
Food company Unilever announced that a beloved product from the 80’s and 90’s will be making its long awaited return.
For the first time in 30 years, Viennetta ice cream cakes will be available at your local supermarket.
According to the announcement, "fans have clamored for Viennetta’s return for almost 30 years."
The dessert is described as a "wavy frozen vanilla base between crispy decadent chocolate layers" that are all formed into the shape of a cake. For now, it will only be available in vanilla, though over the years, chocolate, mint, and pistachio were also a hit.
Fans with a sweet-tooth will be overjoyed to learn that 24 other frozen goods from Breyers, Klondike, Magnum, Popsicle and Talenti will hit the market as well.
The announcement noted that Breyers has 10 new frozen treats including new flavors for the CarbSmart line, Klondike will be releasing Klondike bar-style coffee doughnuts, and Magnum is adding three new truffle bars and red velvet tubs. Meanwhile, Talenti will debut six new flavors as Popsicle adds three new treats including Minions and Spiderman popsicles.
"Unilever's ice cream portfolio includes iconic and beloved brands," Russel Lilly, the vice president of Unilever Ice Cream North America, said in a statement. "When creating new products, we look at key trends and what consumers want in their treats to ensure we're creating innovative flavors and expanding the variety of product shapes and sizes that our fans will love."
All products are now available in major retailers nationwide.
