Sidewalk chalk is a fun way for kids to express themselves and show off their artistic side. Instead of heading to the store to buy sidewalk chalk, make it yourself with the kids!  Three easy steps make this DIY project one the entire family can enjoy. You'll need a silicone ice pop mold, measuring cup, plastic spoons, paper cups, craft sticks, food coloring, water and plaster of Paris. Start with 1/3-cup of cold water. Add in a few drops of food coloring of your choice (different cups for different colors) and stir. The more food coloring, the darker the pigment the chalk will have. Next, add 2/3 cup plaster of Paris and carefully stir it into the colored water. Before the mixture has a chance to dry, pour each color into one of the silicone molds. Place the crafts stick in the mold (for a handle) and let the mold set for at least one hour and up to 4 hours to fully dry. Then pop the dried chalk out of the mold and let the fun begin.
