Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - The American Red Cross is assisting an estimated two dozen people displaced by a fire in an apartment building at the Greenville Park Apartments near Valley View and Pennwood Tuesday night.

Fire dispatchers received multiple 9-1-1 calls at 7:15 p.m. that an apartment building at 4043 Silver Dollar Avenue was on fire.

When firefighters arrived, thick smoke covered the entire area making it difficult to locate the building that was burning. Firefighters found heavy flames blowing out the front and rear windows of a second floor apartment in the two story wood frame building that housed eight apartments. Firefighters had the fire under control in eight minutes, keeping the fire from spreading to the other seven units in the building.

The cause of the fire is undetermined. Damage is estimated at $35,000.  There were no injuries in connection with the incident.

Clark County Fire Department assisted Las Vegas firefighters at the blaze.
