PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Is it safe to exercise outdoors? The answer is yes, but you need to approach it safely.

Virus aside, make sure you are cleared to exercise if you are over 45, and whatever your age, make certain the temperature is not too high.

From a COVID-19 standpoint, social distancing is critical, but it’s not the only important thing to keep in mind.

It’s important to reduce the spread of droplet nuclei — low impact exercise like pilates and yoga reduce propelled fluids.

Another important thing to consider is if it’s a formal exercise, the instructor should be easily heard so he or she does not have to yell.

Take advantage of the warmer weather, and remember, the better condition that you are in, the better you can fight the virus if you get it.
