PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — I know that there is a great political battle surrounding whether or not government leaders should be able to require people to wear masks, and I can understand the two sides of this debate.

As a physician who faces the risk of contracting the virus every day, I would not be telling the truth if I didn't express frustration.

Selfishly, the more people don't wear masks, the more it puts a growing number of people, including myself, my colleagues and those I love, at greater risk.

But I’d like to make a suggestion: If you believe no one can force you to wear a mask, use your free choice and wear a mask.

Right now, it’s the only thing we really have that can help save your own life  and the lives of others.

The more people wear masks, the less chance the virus has to get free and harm others.
