$500k in COVID-19 help up for grabs for small businesses, nonprofits

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — There's more relief available for small businesses and nonprofits in the Philadelphia region during the COVID-19 crisis. They'll have to act fast if they want a piece of the more than $500,000 up for grabs.

Earlier this week, Citizens Bank joined the PA Care Package initiative, which means the bank is offering additional assistance to help people in times of financial need during the pandemic.

Dan Fitzpatrick, president of the Mid-Atlantic region, says there are several opportunities that people can take advantage of.

"These are not loans, these from Citizens Bank. These are actual direct grants to help businesses through," he said. "We'll do 134 of these business grants at $15,000 each."

Clients seeking to apply are asked to write 150 words or less that explain how the grant will help them recover. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 10, at 5 p.m here
