Shapiro joined KYW Newsradio live and said this public health crisis has led to an economic crisis for many families across the state, and many are struggling to figure out how to get food on the table for themselves and their families.
“And we want to make sure that while they’re worrying about that, keeping themselves healthy, they don’t have to worry about losing a roof over their head or they can make other arrangements on their car payments or mortgage payments,” he said.
Shapiro said people have rights and protections during the crisis, and the guide is meant to help people find resources and protections, as well as helping them understand what they can do to help themselves.
Shapiro said the guide includes information on housing, paid leave, unemployment compensation, late fees from banks, and much more.
