Montgomery County Commissioner Val Arkoosh is looking forward to more local businesses opening up. However, she pointed to a bunch of states that eased restrictions about a month ago, and are now seeing a surge of cases.
“COVID-19 is not over,” she said. “A number of (states) are experiencing their highest number of daily new cases since the pandemic began.”
In addition to following guidelines — like wearing a mask indoors, staying at least 6 feet apart, and sticking to capacity guidelines — Arkoosh encourages people to get tested for coronavirus.
“All of our testing sites are open to anyone who needs or wants to get tested,” she added.
Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 will get a call from the county’s contact tracing program. Arkoosh hopes everyone will cooperate with it, as it helps stay ahead of any outbreaks.
If you exposed someone, it remains anonymous, Arkoosh explained. They will tell that person they were exposed, but they won’t say where, when or by whom.
