Bensalem business giving away air scrubbers to workers on the front line of the pandemic

BENSALEM, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A small business in Bucks County is saying "thank you" to front line workers and first responders with a freebie that could help make their lives safer and easier.

ECI Comfort in Bensalem is giving away an air scrubber, a portable filtration system that can help kill mold, dust, and some virus particles that can live in the air and on surfaces.

Ron Musser of ECI Comfort said the technology is in high demand right now, but they’re looking to give some away as a "thank you."

"Front line, first responders, one of their biggest fears is when they go out bringing that back home with them. Their family may be staying home but they have to go out and be exposed to coronavirus," he said. "This is one way that we thought we could help, clean the air and the surfaces in their home."

Musser said they’ll still have to follow sanitary protocols but the device could help them breathe easier in more ways than one.

"You feel like your house is cleaner," he said. "The hydrogen peroxide particles actually land on the surfaces and will kill bacteria on the surfaces."
