PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Some local businesses are working overtime in an effort to capitalize off this weekend's expected onslaught winter weather.

For the workers at the Fairmount Avenue Ace Hardware store, preparing for inclement winter weather means making sure they stay stocked up on snow removal essentials.

"We don't know if we're going to get two inches or 14 inches, but we are prepared retail wise for all the product that we sell via shovels scrapers, choppers, calcium salt, and eco-friendly ice melter," said Store manager Dave Arici.

Arici says they have six tractor-trailer loads of winter clean up materials ready to go, and they're anticipating a lucrative weekend.

"We'll have all the product here on the sidewalk, and it will be a cattle chute all day long," he said.

Dave says in addition to the winter work tools, they also have some snow day staples for the young and the young at heart.

"We have the blowup sleds for the art museum, you know the parents take their kids down to the art museum and they go down the steps," he added.

Dave reminds that a snow day doesn't have to be all work; some fun should be sprinkled in too.
