PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Though the Federal Unemployment Assistance program expands who can file a claim and get money from either the state or the federal government, it’s very limited for undocumented workers.

"It's one of the federal requirements for people to be eligible to work in the U.S.," said Susan Dickinson, policy director for Pennsylvania’s unemployment office.

"If you are not eligible to work in the U.S., and you can’t accept some sort of work in the U.S. and some sort of covered work, then you are not eligible for unemployment — until you do get some sort of a valid way of working in the U.S.," she said.
