The dispensary, called Beyond/Hello, will be a place where cannabis products can be matched with ailments.
"Come in to our dispensary, speak with one pharmacist, speak with one of our expertly trained staff, learn more about the products, and potentially pick a product up," explained President Blythe Huestis.
"Pennsylvania's medical program currently allows for the sales of flowers, vape cartridges, tinctures, pills and topical lotions. The commonwealth has not approved any eatable sales, so that is one of the main differences between our medical marijuana and some of the other states."
Beyond/Hello officially opens for business Jan. 24. Customers must have a medical cannabis state license to enter by that date, but Thursday's open house is free to all. There won't be any medicinal products on the premises, however, but experts, vendors and patients will available to talk with the public about medical marijuana.
"It's an opportunity for us to open our doors before we are open for business to our community," added Huestis, and "give them an inside look of our dispensary and start having conversations with the community on what medical marijuana is."
The Beyond/Hello dispensary is located at 1206 Sansom St.
Registration for the open house is required.
