PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — No worries Flyers fans. The weather will not put the Flyers outdoor game versus the Penguins on ice.

The NHL announced Saturday afternoon that the Stadium Series game at Lincoln Financial Field will go on as scheduled.

There was some concern that with rain in the forecast the game would have to be postponed. But the NHL released a statement eight hours before faceoff confirming the Flyers and Penguins would renew their rivalry outside as planned.

"While we are expecting a chance of a relatively light amount of precipitation in and around the game window, current forecasts are indicating that we will have playable conditions," the statement read. "We will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the day and if a different determination becomes necessary due to the weather conditions being worse than anticipated, we will adjust accordingly."
