The consortium has won a competitive bidding process to provide free COVID-19 testing to any SEPTA employee who wants it.
"We're going to be testing twice a week. And we're going to be testing at the depots. So, Suburban Station, Midvale, Fern Rock and 69th and Market," she said.
To date, nearly 300 SEPTA employees have tested positive for COVID-19, and seven have died.
SEPTA General Manager Leslie Richards says employee unions have stressed the need for temperature checks and testing.
"I think it's going to give everybody confidence that, if they have any questions, they can go get tested," Richards said.
Richards says the deal not only allows employees to be tested but it also helps to expand the reach of the consortium.
