WHITPAIN, TWP., Pa (KYW Newsradio) — Crews from Pennsylvania American Water are working Monday morning to repair an overnight water main break along Township Line Road near Dekalb Pike in Whitpain Township, Montgomery County.

Some 20 homes and businesses in the area are without water because of a break in a 12-inch cast-iron main. Many nearby homes that lost water pressure because of the break have had service restored, according to community Facebook posts.

Traffic on DeKalb Pike cannot turn onto Township Line Road. Traffic on Township Line coming from Hannah Avenue is being diverted into a shopping center to connect with DeKalb Pike.

A supervisor at the scene said it will be a couple of hours until repairs are completed and the water is back on for all customers in the area.

Township Line will stay closed for a better part of the morning according to officials to fix this 12 inch cast iron break https://t.co/257v07HFvE
