Pennsburg Mayor Vickie Lightcap says they’re working on a resolution that “will allow our businesses to open under CDC guidelines and get back to some sort of normalcy up here in Pennsburg.”
Lightcap, speaking on Dom Giordiano’s show on 1210 WPHT, says they only have three positive cases in their town, so she questions Montgomery County Commissioner Val Arkoosh.
“Why can’t she look at the bigger picture here and understand exactly what’s going on in northwestern Montgomery County,” Lightcap said.
In response, Arkoosh says she hopes regardless of what the elected officials in Pennsburg do, that Pennsburg residents would continue to follow the governor’s guidelines, as — she notes for the past week or so — numbers are trending in the right direction.
“It would be a shame if some individuals would decide to go it on their own and make it more difficult for the entire rest of this county,” Arkoosh said.
Pennsburg borough council president Diane Stevens posted on Facebook saying the resolution council passed does not give the green light for businesses to reopen, but instead gives Lightcap permission to draft language they can review at their next meeting.
