MEDIA, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Many of us have been practicing social-distancing for well over a week now — and many of us have run out of activities to keep us busy.

“We’re doing this chalk art on our driveways to kind of give a positive message to people to keep their spirits up and to stay connected as a small, little community here in Media,” said neighbor Kevin Burns.

For St. Patrick’s Day last week, neighbors displayed shamrocks in their windows for kids to find in a scavenger hunt.

“People have been posting different suggestions every day, and so we just sort of run with whatever somebody suggests for that day, and it’s been fun,” he said. “And it’s also helped me to get connected with people in the neighborhood.”

Burns said he can simply sit on his front porch and wave to his neighbors to stay connected.

“People have been checking in on Facebook to say, ‘Does anybody need anything? Is everyone OK?’

“It’s been uplifting. It’s been lovely.”
