Dr. Rahul Shah is an orthopedic spine and neck surgeon. That's not the kind of doctor you usually hear of working with coronavirus patients.
But Shah took notice of an issue in his area, related to coronavirus.
"There were not as many testing sites, and there was not as much access for first responders to be able to test them," he said.
In an effort to do something about this problem, Shah teamed up with the Police Benevolent Association to work with first responders around coronavirus-related issues.
"We were able to coordinate a local testing center which covers all of the counties, from Mercer all the way down to Cape May County, and everything in between," said Shah.
He added they're doing free telehealth visits with first responders that they can access in their homes.
"Should they meet the requirements needed to get tested, we're able to coordinate with that testing site," Shah explained.
He said the drive-up testing site they opened in Deptford is open rain or shine.
