PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Einstein Medical Center has received a much-needed donation of personal protective equipment.

The donation will go a long way to help medical professionals fighting the coronavirus pandemic, according to Angela Cantwell, the director of nursing for behavioral health at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia.

“We are getting a whole boatload of critical medical supplies. We are getting masks, gowns, gloves, N95 respirators and hand sanitizers,” she said.

She says the generous donation was made by the area’s Chinese-American community, which has been busy collecting supplies and donating as much as possible to Philadelphia-area hospitals.

“They’re a group of individuals who collect their resources and buy critical supplies for local hospitals. We are immensely grateful for this donation,” she added.

Cantwell admits the hospital and its workers will be battling this healthcare issue for some time and the donation is critical to keep workers safe.
