Philly police investigate body found in trash can they believe to be result of love triangle gone bad

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — There's an investigation underway into a body that Philadelphia police found dumped in a trash can Tuesday. Law enforcement sources believe the body is the result of a murder from a love triangle gone bad.

Sources say a teenage girl told her school guidance counselor Tuesday morning that her ex-boyfriend killed her current boyfriend and dumped the body in a trash can by a home at 6800 Rockland Street in the Hunting Park section of the city.

That police source says when detectives got to the scene, they found a male's body.

They believe the male was killed a few weeks back with pots and pans in a different part of Hunting Park, and then his body was taken to where they found it.

Police are questioning that teenage girl who led them to the body as they continue their investigation.
