Police searching for man shown on video throwing rocks at Philly mosque

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Authorities are searching for a man who vandalized a Philadelphia mosque in West Oak Lane. Police released surveillance video Wednesday in hopes of finding the suspect. 

In the video, a man wearing a black baseball cap, pink polo shirt, and work boots approaches the steps of the Masjidullah mosque and starts throwing rocks at the front of the building. 

Philadelphia police say the vandalism to the mosque, which is located along Limekiln Pike near Washington Lane, happened Monday just before 11 p.m., resulting in $400 worth of damage to a glass door.  

The man is described as having a stocky build. He was also carrying an umbrella and wearing a lanyard around his neck.

After the incident, he fled on foot west toward Forrest Avenue.
