PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Just about every flavor, cuisine and ingredient can be found in the controlled chaos of Reading Terminal Market.

So it's no surprise that The Online Farmers Market (TOFM) recently named it the top farmers market in the country.

The list is comprised of the top public markets across the U.S., which are open almost every day.

TOFM described Reading Terminal as a "Philly treasure," "loaded with vendors that cover it all. We’re talking locally made products, fresh meat, fresh fish, and no shortage of a good, ready to eat bite."

According to Visit Philadelphia's 2018 annual report, 43.3 million people visited the Philly region in 2017, 38.2 million of which were in the city for leisure purposes. Visitors generated $7.1 billion in the region in 2017.

TOFM's 2019 list of the top five markets also includes West Side Market in Cleveland, Ohio; Grand Central Market in Los Angeles; Milwaukee Public Market in Milwaukee; and Winter Garden Farmers Market and Plant Street Market in Winter Garden, Florida.
