COLLINGSWOOD, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — On the first weekend that some beaches and state parks were allowed to reopen in New Jersey, overcrowding led to closures.

"As we push these curves down and folks continue to comply and keep social distancing, that’s the best weapon we’ve got to get the best outcome by the time we do get to Memorial Day," he said.

Also over the weekend, several state parks had to stop letting people in. Per state rules, parking lots can only be 50% full.

There’s also no picnicking allowed. Bathrooms are closed, and you need to wear a mask if you’re near others.
