PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Kanye West for president? The rapper and producer set off some fireworks of his own for the Fourth of July.
In a tweet Saturday, West said, "We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States," along with the hashtag "#2020VISION."

The announcement was retweeted nearly 400,000 times.

Of course his wife and potential first lady, Kim Karsdashian West, retweeted him.

But the real endorsement is from Elon Musk.

The SpaceX and Tesla CEO replied, "You have my full support!"

Late last year, West said he would make a run for the White House in 2024.

But according to the Federal Election Commission’s website, there is one Kanye West registered for this year. But the name listed isn't suited for radio.
