OUTDOORS

Savor the sights of big, bold, colorful flora during the last weekend of Longwood Gardens’ Chrysanthemum Festival. Entry is free with admission, and be sure to check out the Thousand Bloom Chrysanthemum, a single plant bearing more than 1,000 sunny yellow blooms on a sole stem.

On Friday, head over to Philadelphia’s beloved Magic Gardens for The Gardens after Dark, and see the glittering mosaics in a whole new light. Tickets are limited, so reserve your sparkly evening exploration now.

Then on Saturday, stroll through Fishtown and Kensington, where you’ll stumble upon the many street paintings that make up the Philly Chalk Festival. Check out the festival map for a self-guided tour, and support local businesses along the way.

ENTERTAINMENT AND EDUCATION

The Gershman Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival continues into its second week with a few exclusive films just for Philadelphia metropolitan area residents, plus art showcases and a masterclass with the creator of the hit Netflix show “BoJack Horseman.” Score an all-access pass for the week, or purchase your films à la carte.

Now through Sunday, the Museum of the American Revolution will honor America’s first veterans and those who continue to serve our nation today. Their stories will be explored through virtual lectures, pop-up talks and performances.

HOLIDAY SHOPPING

On Saturday, kick off your holiday shopping season at The Saturday Club’s annual Sidewalk Holiday Market. Support locally owned small businesses at this cashless event — you can use your credit or debit card, or Venmo. Plus, you may even win the raffle.

Reading Terminal Market is hosting its second annual Holiday Showcase on Friday and Saturday. Shop and browse through more than 40 market merchants’ seasonal gifts, decorations, foods, and more.

Then, check out the Germantown Outdoor Market on Sundays at Attic Brewing for food trucks and vendors from the community. Enjoy food from The Clean Plate Club Truck, and shop items such as jewelry, clothing, body care, and artwork.
