PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The City Commissioners are teaming up with the Eagles to give Philadelphia residents a safe way to submit mail-in ballots.

Parking Lot K at Lincoln Financial Field will be one of the mobile drop-off sites in Philadelphia.

“You filled out the application. You’ve gotten your ballot. Now we need you to do one more thing and that’s get your ballot back to us,” said City Commissioner Chair Lisa Deeley.

This site outside of the Linc will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Monday.

Commissioner Omar Sabir proposed the mobile drop boxes.

“It’s just to give the community more access,” he explained.

The lot can be accessed from 11th Street, and Eagles cheerleaders and Swoop will be there to say hello.

It’s requested that once voters arrive, they stay in their cars, wear a mask and practice social distancing.

The City Commissioners are guaranteeing that ballots will be received by the commissioners in time to be counted on Tuesday.

“People should take advantage of these mobile drop offs that will hopefully be convenient for them and in their communities, and it’s a safe and acceptable way for you to get your ballot back to us.
