PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This weekend on Flashpoint, host Cherri Gregg asks the burning questions about the federal courts.

Over the past four years, President Donald Trump and Senate Republicans have worked to reshape the federal bench. In addition to the three Supreme Court nominations, the Trump administration has confirmed 53 Circuit Courts of Appeals judges. In total, the administration has appointed 218 federal judges and the impact could be felt for generations.

University of Pennsylvania law professor Kermit Roosevelt discusses the current state of the U.S. Supreme Court and the impact that Judge Amy Coney Barrett will have on the court for years to come.

Then, Drexel law professor and federal courts expert Lisa Tucker discusses the broader impact of the changes to the federal court, how it could impact civil rights lawsuits and the politics of it all. Tucker is author of the new book, "Hamilton and the Law."
