PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Fall allergies are right around the corner and Chester County’s health director is urging allergy sufferers to start preparing now.
Chester County Health Director Jeanne Casner said when contact tracers reach out to people who have tested positive for COVID-19, sometimes they hear people say they thought it was just allergies.
“The message there is we can’t assume these symptoms are allergies even if we are a known allergy sufferer,” she said.
Her advice for those who have seasonal allergies is to start taking allergy medicine now, and think about what your allergy symptoms typically are.
For example, if you get wheezy, ask yourself if it’s wheezing in your upper chest or deeper chest congestion, in which case, she said to get in touch with your medical provider.
