PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — COVID-19 has dominated the world of healthcare for almost a year, but there are other health issues that should not be ignored.

I will be the first to tell you that for most of us practicing medicine, it is COVID-19 that we think about when we wake up and when we end the day. Protection for our patients, our staff and ourselves is always a concern, as is an awareness of helping those with COVID-19 the best we can.

But long before COVID-19, and long after, there will be the myriad of health concerns that every person faces.

It’s important to continue preventive screening, continue to take medications and do all of this despite the fact that dollars may be tough to come by due to the economic challenges COVID-19 has presented for so many of us.

This is the time of year when we can reflect on the past 12 months. Take a look at your own personal health and make sure you are doing the things you need to do.
