PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Montgomery County man is charged with sex assault and aggravated assault in connection with the death of his 10-month-old daughter.
According to charging documents, 29-year-old Austin Stevens initially told police on Saturday that his 10-month-old daughter was in the tub in his apartment on Germantown Pike near Grange Avenue in Lower Providence.
He said he went into the kitchen and heard a thud like her falling and hitting her head.
But authorities say Stevens' search history shows he was looking up things like "if baby stop breathing" or "how do you know if a baby is dead" more than an hour before he called 911.
The child was pronounced dead about an hour later, shortly after midnight.
