Doritos is relaunching beloved 90s snack 3D Crunch


Doritos fans are in for a nostalgic treat.

Frito-Lay is bringing back everyone’s favorite iconic 90s Doritos snack, 3D Crunch, at the end of the year.

The fan-favorite snack was first launched back in 1998 and became a popular lunch box addition until it was discontinued in the early 2000s.

The airy, crunchy, bite sized chips will be back on store shelves starting on December 28th, according to TODAY.

“Doritos 3D Crunch is one of our most anticipated product launches ever. What’s exciting is that we didn’t just bring back the original — we’ve evolved it to reflect the snacking trends of a new generation,” Rachel Ferdinando, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Frito-Lay North America said in a press release.

The snack will come in the classic Doritos’ nacho cheese flavor, as well as a new “hot-and-spicy’ ranch flavor Gen Z kids will love.

3D Crunch chips grew in popularity after a Doritos aired a raunchy Doritos 3D Crunch Super Bowl commercial staring former Miss USA and actress Aly Laundry. To celebrate the relaunch, Frito-Lay has rehired the “Doritos girl” star to kick off the product campaign.

The iconic commercial also stars actor Sean Hayes who is best known for playing Jack in the hit sitcom “Will and Grace.”

Laundry will commemorate the iconic Super Bowl Commercial by hosting a #Doritos3Dchallenge on Tik Tok where she will ask fans to catch the crunchy chips in their mouths in the “boldest way possible.”

The Tik Tok challenge will kick off on Monday, the same day the chip will hit store shelves.
