Q:Why do you love your job?
A: Radio is fun and it’s different every day. Plus, it’s a creative outlet that also provides an opportunity to connect with Austin and the community. Like Mark Twain said, “find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
Q: Why do you love your station?
A: I love a hit song! And at Majic every song on the playlist is a hit from a wide variety of artists that span a lot of years. Plus, I’m a child of he 80s and we play all my favorite songs from high school, the classics that the MTV generation loves.
Q: Why do you love Austin?
A: I grew up in Dallas and always loved the vibe that Austin offered. It was quirky, laid back and just about the polar opposite of Big D. I got here as fast as I could. Austin isn’t the same small town that it used to be but it’s still got a small town feel. it’s still friendly and easy going and you can still go anywhere in flip-flops and a tee.
Q: What are your 5 favorite things?
A: 1. The Lake. Travis, Austin, Canyon or Town. I just can’t get enough. If I’m not sailing my Hobie Getaway on Travis, I’m probably on the SUP ATX paddleboard downtown. That’s how I prefer to spend my weekends.
2. The Austin bike trails. I ride the Town Lake Trail the most but I actually prefer the Walnut Creek Trail, though not that long hill! I like to ride around the east side too. It’s flat quiet and maybe the most interesting part of Austin.
3. Travel. I love to explore a place that I’ve never been or dig a little deeper and get a little further off the beaten path when I return. I try to use my vacation day to see and do something new.
4. Austin food. Taco Deli, Home Slice, Pool Burger. I try to embrace the iconic, the local and the food trucks.
5. My 1972 Vespa Sprint VLB. I like my Yamaha but I love my Vespa!
