MTV may be going all digital and audience-free for their upcoming 2020 Video Music Awards, but they’ll have plenty of star power. The network announced Doja Cat, J Balvin and BTS will perform at the August 30 event around New York City.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, MTV says artists will perform live throughout various locations around The Big Apple. Each location will be audience-free. Additional performers will be announced closer to the event.
The trio of artists have already racked up many nominations for their work, this year. Doja Cat has three nominations including Song of the Year for ”Say So,” Best New Artist and Best Direction. J Balvin netted four nominations including Best Collaboration and three mentions in the Latin Video Category.
All eyes though will be on South Korean K-Pop stars, BTS. The super group has three nominations for their newest single “ON,” including Best Choreography, Best Pop Video and Best K-pop single. The guys will also be performing their newest and yet to be released single “Dynamite.”
