While Wilmer Valderrama and Demi Lovato may not be together anymore, they have nothing but nice things to say about each other.
The duo called it quits in 2016, but a year prior, they collaborated on the animated movie “Charming,” E! reported.
The film, which was co-produced by the 40-year-old actor, was initially released in theaters overseas in 2018. This weekend, it finally saw a US-debut on Netflix!
To promote the film's release, Valderrama shared a trailer for the movie on his Instagram page, praising Lovato and the rest of the cast, including Sia, Ashley Tisdale, Avril Lavigne, Nia Vardalos, and John Cleese.
“After years of production and love for this project I am thrilled to share that the untold story of Prince Charming (our first Latino Prince) @charmingmovie will be premiering today Friday January 8th!!! As an Original @netflix #Film,” Valderrama wrote.” Thank you to our amazing team @officialwventertainment, and our incredible cast @ddlovato @avrillavigne @ashleytisdale @gem0816 @niavardalos @siamusic @johncleeseofficial for taking this leap of faith! Hope you all enjoy it!”
Valderrama voices Prince Charming, a man who has never been in love and who has been ordered by his father, the King, to marry before his 21st birthday. Despite being engaged to three princesses throughout the course of the film, his heart pines for a jewel thief named Lenore, voiced by Lovato.
Valderrama and Lovato dated for nearly six years before breaking things off in the summer of 2016. However, they have remained friendly and supportive of each other throughout the years. When she suffered an overdose in 2018, Valderrama was there for her.
