Servers around the city were shocked when they opened these envelopes left on their table after the patron finished their meal.
That patron was Massachusetts native Ernie Boch Jr.
Ernie Boch Jr. went to six different local restaurants and not only enjoyed a meal there, but also left an envelope for the server at each place.
According to boston.com, Ernie went to J.J. Foley’s Cafe, Lincoln Tavern & Restaurant, Loretta’s Last Call, The Corner Tavern, Stats Bar & Grille, and The Hub Pub, and ordered food and drinks at each place and left immediately after he got the bill.
However, he did not just pay the bill. The envelope he left on each table contained $2,021 for the server! Last year, he followed in the footsteps of Donnie Wahlberg and participated in the '2020 Tip Challenge,' and now is continuing in the new year!
Ernie Boch Jr. did not stop there. He also donated $1 million to The Barstool Fund, a fund created by Barstool Sports that helps out all small businesses around the country affected by COVID-19.
Ernie said, "Small businesses and family businesses are the backbone of this economy. And we have to support them.”
Despite the last year or so being draining, it is so special to how kind human beings can be.
