Katy Perry Reveals How It Feels To Deliver a Baby and an Album at the Same Time

'dont f*** with mama'

It’s safe to say it’s been a wild week for Katy Perry.

The singer and her fiancé, Orlando Bloom welcomed their first child, Daisy Dove, together on Wednesday, and today she welcomes her fifth studio album, Smile.

As expected, Katy shared the news on social media like only she can while invoking the album's title and closing track, "What Makes A Woman," to emphasize her strength throughout each task.

The couple, who are Goodwill Ambassadors for UNICEF, also shared a touching image on the foundation's Instagram of the new family holding hands in the hospital saying, “We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter.”⠀

“But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was," the post continues while sharing the struggles the foundation faces on a daily basis.

“As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, we know UNICEF is there, on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare." In celebration Daisy’s arrival, a special donation page has been set up which also highlights the important work Katy and Orlando have been a part of over the years.
