Have you heard of "Buzzing"? Austin's newest quarantine craze

By Mix 94.7

Last weekend, my wife and I were at home(like usual) when there was a knock at the door.  We certainly weren’t expecting company!  We looked out the peephole and there was no one to be seen.  Maybe it was a package we had forgotten we had ordered?  We opened the door and looked down to see this!

We had been “Buzzed”.

What’s buzzing, you may ask?  It’s a new fun way for people to interact and spread some happiness and positivity during these tough times.  It’s also a great way to make some new friends without being able to meet new people in person.  Here’s how it works:  join a buzz fairy group in your area on Facebook(some are private, search for “(your area or city name) buzz fairies”.  For example, my wife is a member of Central Texas Buzz Fairies and the South Austin Buzz Fairies.  Next, you can find someone to “buzz” and put together a gift basket for them-include some adult beverages(of course everyone needs to be 21+) and some other fun things.  Be creative!  Then, go to the person’s house or apartment and leave your basket on their doorstep.  Knock on the door and then be on your way(to maintain that social distancing)!

This past weekend, we returned the favor on our buzz fairy.  Who doesn’t need a little more positivity in 2020, right?
