Billie Eilish Calls Out People Partying During Pandemic: 'I Haven’t Hugged My Best Friends in Six Months'

The artist shames YOLO party snobs spreading the virus

Billie Eilish put Gen-Z partygoers on blast in a recent Instagram post saying “Funny how I haven’t hugged my best friends in six months and y’all are out here partying.”

Twitter user @defnoodles screen grabbed and posted Billie’s recent Insta-story. It’s unclear if a distorted filter enlarging her lips carries any significance to the public health message. Near the end of her video, the “bad guy” singer removes the filter and ironically states “Funny.”

Numerous reports suggest college students throwing crowded parties, while ignoring safety protocols and social distancing. Back in July, officials from the University of Alabama say students were purposefully trying to infect each other by throwing “coronavirus parties.”

According to ABC News, party organizers intentionally invited COVID-19 infected guests to gatherings in a disturbing contest to see who could catch the virus first.

“I have a desperate desire not to release them during COVID-19. It’s the vaccine record! I want it to be the album everyone’s out dancing in the streets to,” he said.

All the while, Billie continues to practice social distancing. Her commitment to public health even extends to music. Brother and producer FINNEAS revealed in a recent interview with Australian newspaper The Herald Sun, she will not release a new album until touring conditions are safe.

The “Let’s Fall in Love for the Night” singer stopped short of announcing a creative pause for the siblings. He assured fans new music is coming. “Billie and I are full steam ahead on her next record, I’m working on my own album too. I haven’t suffered at all because of my set-up.”
