Back in the end of January, art-pop musician Grimes shared the news that she and boyfriend Elon Musk of Space X and Tesla Motors fame were expecting their first child.
“How do y’all cope with working and having a baby,” she asked in an Instagram post explaining where she had been in recent weeks. “I’m sorry I haven’t been promoting my album properly or on social media more. This whole thing has been a bit of an ordeal. Had some complications early on, a decent second trimester but starting to hurt everywhere at 25 [weeks],” Grimes explained.
Fast-forward to May 4th, while Musk was discussing a Tesla EPA testing controversy late night on Twitter, he casually dropped the news that the baby had arrived.
As some in the thread asked for an update, Musk provided, albeit in the least exciting ways imaginable. “Mom & baby all good,” he responded to someone asking for the name, and simply “boy” when answering another who asked for more info.
But things started to pick up in usual Musk manner the more he engaged...
While he initially shared a photoshopped image of the little one complete with long eye lashes and facial tattoos, Musk jokingly(?) named him “X Æ A-12 Musk” and a proper father and son photo was eventually posted.
Cue the awwwwws!
